About

Hi, I’m Kris Von Kleist (KVK)

I’m a filmmaker and editor based in Ontario, and I help people tell stories with clarity, care, and momentum — whether that’s through film/video services, hands-on teaching, or preserving memories through VHS transfers.

You can also find my work on YouTube and my writing on Substack.

My approach

I’m drawn to work that feels human — the subtle moments, the emotional rhythm, the things people don’t say out loud. I care a lot about pacing, intention, and making creative work feel doable instead of overwhelming.

Whether I’m editing a story, teaching a workshop, or transferring a box of tapes for a family, my goal is the same: create a process that’s calm, organized, and respectful of what the work (or memory) actually means.

What I do

Video services

Concept development, strategy, film production roles, mobile content creation, Editing and production support for artists, organizations, and small businesses — story-led, efficient, and collaborative.

VHS & tape transfers

Digitizing VHS and other formats into private, shareable digital files — handled with care from start to finish.

Content coaching & Workshops

Workshops and courses that make video creation feel accessible — with structure, encouragement, and real-world tools.

Why I do this

I’ve spent years building a creative life across filmmaking, editing, and community work. Over time, I noticed a pattern: people don’t just need “more content.” They need a way to make it that feels aligned — and a process that doesn’t drain them.

That’s why my work lives at the intersection of storytelling and systems: helping people make things that are meaningful, and helping them actually finish.
